My approach to individual therapy
Getting to know a therapist can be intimidating, whether you’re brand new to the process or have been in therapy before. My approach as a therapist is collaborative, warm, and supportive. I check in with my clients often about how therapy is going for them and alter my approach to meet their needs and therapy goals.
I use an integrative approach to therapy, meaning that I draw from evidence-based practices to provide the best possible care for each individual client. These approaches include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), exposure and response prevention (ERP), acceptance & commitment therapy (ACT), and motivational interviewing, among others.
My approach with parents
I’m also passionate about working directly with parents. As a parent to a toddler myself, I know firsthand how rewarding and challenging parenting can be!
I offer individual sessions with parents to provide general parenting support and to help parents with more specific concerns that they may have for their child, such as navigating big feelings or challenging behaviors. I strive to provide a safe, non-judgmental space where you can freely share what is going on with your child and at home, so we can figure out a path forward together.
I’ve been trained in SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions), a parent-based treatment program for children with anxiety or OCD, and offer this as a service to parents when applicable. You can read more about SPACE here: https://www.spacetreatment.net/
